Flossing technique

Many type of floss/tape are available waxed, unwaxed, flavoured and also floride impregnated. Select approximately 50cm of your favourite floss. Wind the ends around your middle fingers of both hands, so that a short distance is left between them. Insert the floss between two teeth onto the gum line. Fluoride occurs naturally in our drinking water and some foods. Where fluoride is present in our drinking water at a certain concentration it confers a benefit to the tooth such that the enamel surface of the tooth is much more resistant to tooth decay. Toothbrushing technique

For healthy teeth and gums a small headed medium/soft textured manual or electric toothbrush is required along with fluoridated toothpaste. A pea-sized amount of toothpaste is all that is required. Start in either the upper or lower arch and work round from the back left-hand molars to the front then around to the right-hand molars, cleaning a small area at a time.
